Satellite radio is a must, but the Qualcomm has a decent nav system built into it. They've done some upgrades to it recently and it works pretty well. Plus it's free....

Absolutely correct on this one. They are about 25 to 30 bucks and worth their weight in gold. You can cook ANYTHING in it. Treat it like a slow cooker or crock pot, and you can make delicious meals.

Over time, I have experienced with different things in it, and my new favorite is what I'm calling "tamale casserole." Get you a couple of big cans of those hormel tamales in a can, and put a layer in the bottom of the pan. Spread some sour cream over the top, then a layer of cheese, then mild Taco Bell taco sauce. Repeat with another layer, then get a bag of chili cheese fritos and crush them in the bag to where they have the same consistency as "thick powder". Put the crushed fritos on the top layer, and sprinkle a little shredded cheese on top. Let it cook in there at about 250 degrees for about 200 to 250 miles. You then have a great casserole. I eat it with nacho chips as if I'm dipping them in salsa.

depending on your stomach's tolerance level, you are going to stink up the truck something awful, but it beats the hell out of eating Pilot chili dogs.

Wonder what happened to Barchetta53; I'd think he should be in his own truck by now?

he has talked to him however right after last day with training he was put off by DBL he was busy said call back Monday i have alot of newbie's to deal with (not in those words)...so he did and then he said you may go out wed or Thursday? He tried to call yesterday before 4pm pacific time (like DBL said) and it went to voice mail main dispatch something like that anyhow no word today from his DBL? Hes nervous and frustrated I know i might be a little bias but he is an great driver was told at his CDL School and at Schneider...its the waiting that's killing him. I have him working on his "honey to do list before he hits the road" :biggrin_255:so that should keep his mind off of it

    To name a few...

    CAT scale locator
    Pilot/Flying J
    Loves

Make sure he gets his loyalty cards for the truck stops. Free showers with 50 gallon or more fill up. Also make sure he's got his shower shoes. A spray bottle for Bleach will help too. I always spray down the shower before I use it.
