I just recently got a Samsung S3 and am having a great time finding apps that I can use when it comes to trucking.

Here are several that I use so far:

    CAT Scale Locator - obvious
    myPilot - obvious
DAT Trucker Services - this one is great for finding rest areas, truck stops, walmarts, etc.
Trucker's Axle Weight Calculator - very helpful for calculating your per-axle weight on the scales that shippers sometimes have that only weight one axle at a time

Now, Get a Garmin Dezl GPS and it becomes REALLY cool - download and install the Garmin Smartphone Link app and connect to the GPS through Bluetooth. Then, when say you are using the DAT Trucker Services app to locate a rest stop, you have the option to choose the Smartphone Link app to "open" the link with, and you can send that address straight to the GPS. Makes it really fast and easy.

Thanks for all the advice on the goodies for my husband. He now rolling along ended up getting him an mp3 downloaded over 21hrs of music plus he has a little portable DVD player to watch movies with. He is due to come home next week. He has had his first trailer tire blow out good thing he caught it on his pre-trip inspection. He also caught a cold he is in good spirts and making it work. He has been meeting great people with Schneider and getting lots of tips and advice on different avenues he can go with. Recently spoke to an owner operator with Schneider I have to look up threads on this topic. It makes me nervous to have the debt ect. the word is the NW is slow going more reason for us to look at the move to AZ (family there).
