In order for me to load 51k legal with 100gl fuel I have to load 27k rear and 24k front this puts my steers at about 12.4k and 33.7k dr / 33.7k tn. This is with a 9200I N14, Stupid-10, 230" wb, steel wheels, 2010' timpte 43'x102x78.

Not lately, it's a few notches forward right now - but I haven't gotten grief about the steer axle loading yet as long as the tractor is under 46k. The big change happens when I'm heading out on a cheap load into high fuel price areas and I take on more fuel and less freight. The fifth is balanced for 25T in the hoppers, not 300 gallons of fuel, and that causes my steer to weigh about 12,500# when fully loaded down.

It's got a 13,200# steer axle, which would be a good confusion clause if I had the tires to hold it :) For some reason, they don't even put 16 ply (range H - up to 6,600# single) on at the factory, and when the previous owner put new steers on it they just followed what was on there originally. I just got a price quote for $804 for a new pair of Firestone Range H steers - and it'll be awhile yet!

Even if I'm not allowed to carry more weight, maybe they'll take damage better. I had to buy a used steer when I was in Florida over the weekend, and got a Dunlop that looked like it had never seen the road for $214 out the door (mounted and balanced). Kept the one that came off as a spare, and I hope I never need it!

Forgot to mention, I'm on a milestone run right now :-D

I finally had the guts to try a 25 Ton loadout after all these trips. Been getting so close lately, 24.92T on the last run, that I just had to go for it. I've got one tank run as dry as could be safe, and locked out, and I weighed in at 29,400 pounds with about 125 gallons (guessing) on. It'll be close, thanks to them loading 34,500# on my trailer tandems and then refusing to let me dump off and adjust. I borrowed a shovel and moved some for the 1st time this morning, got it down to 34,300# and we'll see how that travels. So far I've been through 2 scales and they haven't wagged a finger yet.

Ran through a CAT scale before fueling, and the pump ran a little longer than I wanted while I was scrubbing the windshield (it's definitely springtime!). We'll see how bad that looks when I re-weigh before I roll out again tonight.
