Sitting at a Pilot in Weed, Ca. I ran out of hours and here I sit. I told my DL this was going to happen but for some reason he didn't believe me. Oh well. It's not a bad place to be. Warm during the day and cold at night from the snow capped mountains. Sleep comes at a premium here. I chose my parking spot carefully. I found a spot next to another van with some barriers in the next stalls making them short. I thought it would discourage someone from parking there. It worked all day long. As night fell the van pulled out and a reefer unit pulled in. Not long after another reefer pulled in on the other side of me. While I've learned to sleep through it, bot rigs ran all night.

    That's it for now.

Spending the night on the side of the road in Lincoln City, OR. Took the time to call the local P.D. and ask if it was ok. Sgt. came down, checked it and and said it was all good. He gave me his card and told me that if anyone came by during the night to show them the card and they should leave me alone.

Ended up T calling my other load in Troutdale. I'm glad of that since I would have had to sit in it until Friday. This load should have been delivered this evening. I had a limited number of hours left on my clock. If you just took the raw miles I had enough time. I asked the folks at the terminal if I did and they said "sure". No way. The route was through every back road in Oregon. Ever stop light was red and traffic backed up. Right now I'm 24 miles from my final and my GPS says it will take me an hour. Only have 45 minutes of DT left so I'm down for the night. My DL got the delivery time changed so it's all good.

I delivered to the GP mill in Toledo, OR. Getting there was a nightmare. Also, John Deere way up north on the coast in Astoria. Beautiful drive, but that doesn't mean it was fun!

I called my DL and he laughed. His parents used to own some houses over here and he's driven this road a lot. He told me to hurry up and find a place to pull over because I was never going to get there with the amount of time I had. So far I haven't really enjoyed the OR, or WA coast.

    Sheriff,
You ever going to make over to the Atlantic coast? You need to get over here to the south were it doesn't snow and it is flat.

I was out there in January. They haven't seen fit to send me anywhere but California in the last month.

So here I sit in Boise. Yesterday I was offered a load to Sacramento. I asked my DL if there were any loads back and he said no. He said they were so short on loads that they were making guys sit for a day.

I got a load to T call in Boise. The times they are giving are just crazy. There isn't any time to fuel, bathroom, or meals. I ran out of hours in LaGrande, OR, and spent the night there. I was up and running by 0245 to get the load here by 0700. I figured they had someone ready to take it on to PA. I found out after I dropped it that I could have delivered it tomorrow and been just fine.

So I send a msg letting my DL I had dropped the T call. He told me to find and empty and they would find me a load. They had sent me loads all night that were ones I couldn't take because I have to be home on the 23rd. They offer me a load to pick up in Jerome, ID. Pick up time was 0930. I called and told them I needed to stop and eat and the time they are giving me is just too close to try and make it. I was told to send in a time when I thought I could pick it up. I gave myself 30 minutes to eat and sent in the time. I got a msg saying they pulled the load off of me. About 15 minutes later I got a msg saying my new time was good. I haven't accepted the load yet and haven't moved my truck. Now, all of my excess time has been burned up. Sent in another msg to my DL asking if I should take the load. Another 15 minutes go by and he says no. So I send in the macro refusing the load and here I sit.

Swift has this +1 theory where they try to push you to get one more load a week. Well it's running me ragged. The safety guy told me to start sending in reasonable times that I can do the loads. They've gotten a lot of complaints and are worried guys might start making bad decisions...DUH.
