I made my delivery on time. Had a bit of an issue with the manager at the Costco. My dispatch said it was a drop load and he insisted it was a live unload. They wouldn't let me take the Swift trailer that was sitting there. I found out later they are using it for storage. I got a preplan for a load going to TX and I took it. It's not really getting me closer to home and I'm scheduled for home time on the 20th. I hope I can T call it in KS and then pick something up going west. I asked but nothing so far.
I'm spending the night in Wahapeton(sp) ND. Nice little town but no place really to park your truck. The first TS said they had parking when I called. I got there and three of the spots were taken with empty trailers. Snow was piled in front of the other spots. There was some parking out back but I was worried I would get stuck in the mud. I went across the street to the Cenex and found a spot. I don't pick up until 0800 so I get to sleep in.
That's all for now.scottied67 Thanks this. -
Sheriff, are you still in that 2013 Volvo? How many miles on it? Any problems? Like it?
I just got put into a 13 Volvo, 109k miles. I've tried to stay away from the volvos and pro stars, every one I've had before was junk. However, all of them were 08 and 09. -
Yep and I really like it. I wish it had more room as it's pretty darn small inside. Mine has 160k on it now and I got it with 127k. So far they've had to replace a differential seal. There's a whine in the steering like it's low on fluid, can't seem to get rid of it. Mine also has a check engine light that's always one. The shop in SLC said it was because something was wrong with the stereo. The guy who had it before me got a CD stuck in it so I'm guessing that's the problem.

Here I sit waiting for an 8am load. There's two trucks in front of me and shipping says 45 minutes per truck to load. There's only one dock and there's two more trucks behind me. I'm not sure how this is supposed to be efficient. I guess the good news is that my driving time didn't even start when I drove the 1 mile to get here. I'm eating up my 14 no matter what. I'm guess with the snow and loading time I'll not make my destination goal today. That's going to be a bad deal all the way around.
If you ever have to pull a load out of Wahpeton, ND, take note there are no showers in town. Parking is at a premium. The Cenex has a nice little cafe, the food and coffee are all good. Folks in town are nice to talk with. Lots of farmers here so if you can talk the talk you'll be good to kill time. Luckily, in my past life I spent many a day and night on a tractor tilling the good earth and building fence. Unfortunately sometimes one led to the other. That happens when you fall asleep. -
I made my delivery in TX, and late last night I was preplanned on two loads. One a short one that T called in Lancaster and another one that ends up being 1400 miles. It looks like I'll be a week late for home time as I was told there are very few loads going from TX to ID. Nothing really to report.
If you take the time to read this, please say a prayer for the Boston terror bombing victims and the wounded and slain police officers.DocWatson, Bigdubber and UncleMeano Thank this.
