Now that is a trainer! That was an incredibly nice thing to do!

So have you taken the upgrade test yet? Should be getting your truck soon.

That's awesome man! Don't worry, if they don't have a truck for you in Conley they will get you to where ever there is one. Are you a smoker? Sometimes that makes the difference in a new or used truck. Also your interview during orientation effects which truck you will be issued. If for someone reason you get a truck that isn't the greatest, just hang in there because Central constantly turns their trucks over. They try to get rid of them early so that they can get more money for them when they sell them. I would say that most of Central's trucks are in very good condition though. Has your trainer taken you through the truck wash at one of the terminals?

I am a non-smoker. The interview wasn't all that long.

I am concerned about the backing part of the upgrade. Had another spat over backing todaay. I know what I need to do, but have trouble with the implimentation. Very frustrating. I can get it done, but my trainer acts like I should just be able to put it reverse and whip it in there.

    My only fault with him...

Anyrate as usual waiting on the shipper to finish loading our trailer, so I can put it in reverse and whip it in there. Hahaha

Right on! When you do your upgrade backing just relax. Back the way you think is comfortable for you. Make sure you get out and look at least once during your test. Also if you want extra points give the horn a toot before you begin backing! Good luck, you will be fine.

I can see how some guys could get impatient with a new guy backing. It's something they've been doing for quite some time and don't see what the problem is. Everyone was a rookie at one time in their career. Hell, sometimes I just "whip it in there" as you say and then there's the times when I'm doing more pull-ups than a marine in boot camp. No worries. Chompi gave some great advice.
Good luck to you and continued best wishes.

Hey Wolf. Watch what other drivers do in tight spots, then emulate the good ones. When you have some room in a lot try what they did. It worked for me.
