AAAHHHH! Well on your way! Training can be a blast man! Sometimes you get the occasional crapper but most of the time it works out well. I think you will like it there at Central. Keep us posted. If you have any questions let us know. Drive safe!

I think the more of us who post about our time as noobs the more enlightened others will be.

Right now we are sitting on a preset the dm says 17:00 today and the shipper says 7:00 tomorrow. In the meantime my trainer sits not making money and I am not getting the 17,000 miles I need on this truck to upgrade.

It's not all wine and rose, but not all gloom and doom either. Patience is a necessary tool out here.

I sat in a truck stop last night watching humanity and thought a truckers version of Da Walmart* . .. though I did get some free sausage at the petro early this morning. :)

    just lil me Thanks this.

With that being said I will give you lesson #1 - Don't eat the truck stop food. Especially from the display case at the front counter! Chances are you will most likely be blowing mud before you make it out of the parking lot! You are a new driver and your system has not yet built up the immunity to the botchulism buffet!

A good rule of thumb for your wallet and your belly is that you must run over 2800 miles that week to earn a greasy meal! Another one is you must do over 3700 a week to buy a dvd or cd.

You really have to watch your butt (literally) because it will grow very quickly out on the road!

My stomach is well protected from all the vinager based bbq sauce I consume.. but I do need to make sure I don't add extra weight to my trainers already heavy truck. Hahaha

We are sitting at a Walmart and all my food is healty stuff. all I will do at the truck stops is replenish my stock of life water and shower..

I think he meant reset..It is when your 70 hrs of service runs out and you take 34hrs off thus reseting back to 70 hrs of service hrs agian.

Excellent. Glad to see things are going well for you. Sounds like your trainer has the right stuff...making you park in tight spots, etc. That's how we learn!

Good job. Stay safe out there and update when you can.

It's our next load. We were supposed to just pick it up and be gone. We were"preset" to pick it before we dropped our previous load.

Shipper got ahead of themselves.. now we are heading west.
Going stop in an hour or so to shower, fuel and switch drivers. I get to drive the next 600 miles.

Sleeping in a moving truck isn't too bad, but I could sleep in a moving ambulance.

Be a computer geek he gets on my nerves when I am using the Qualcomm. I am already 4 steps ahead of him when he's meticiously explaining what to enter on the first step. I just nod and smile..

He half deaf so I don't know if he's ignoring me or can't hear me.

Little quirks of sharing a small box.

Hamsterrock74 and Lady K Thank this.
