. Ok todday to personalities clashed. Guess it had to happen. When my trainer gets tired he becomes a whole different person. Instead of teaching he chastises. So my alpha personality kickes in. I also got out of the truck and told him to back the dang thing up.
However, once I cooled off and he relaxed we came to terms.
Back to harmony.
Ok now the rant. We had a 9pm appt. at a receiver. We got there on time but because this load was rescheduled from a previous driver we had to pay the receiver 50 dollars. Well Central will pay it, but.... now the real rant. It has taken the receiver 90 minutes to start unloading us.
I think we should get that fifty back. Hahahahaha
Seriously if you don't have an over abundance of patience and can't control you temper under fire or when tired this is not a profession for you..

I've never had to pay a receiver for something like that. That's nuts. Longest I've waited to get loaded was just over 5 flippin' hours. I make sure I get detention pay after the 1st two hours.
Glad you worked stuff out with your trainer. You guys are getting along. -
chompi Thanks this.

Sounds like you are definitely learning the ropes! Detention time! Fighting with your Co-driver! It's all part of trucking! Once a week you will fight with a co-driver. Once a week (or more) you will be detained at a shipper/receiver.
Sounds like you did well coming down into Salt Lake. You have to be really careful at the bottom though, that seems to be where all the ice gathers for some reason. Don't let it catch you by surprise! Early morning is the worst time for this. Also, I can't believe you made it all the way across Wyo. without being shut down. Rare this time of year! Be very careful driving the next few days, there is quite a system trekking in from Cali all the way up to SLC.

I think they ought to legislate dock time when considering our hours of service. No respect for us at all! -

Well here I sit at my trainer house while he's on home time for Christmas. It's cool, but somewhat depressing. Small house so I have sleep in the truck. Least I am finding out what it will be like solo.
My trainer's DM is going to try and get me home after Christmas for a day. That's works for me too. If he can't least I will know he tried. The rules of Southern Hospitality will prevent me from making him stay in the truck. Dang yankees. Hahaha
The truck has an APU and the bunk heater works real well, so I am good. Guess I could be like other whiners I have seen, why bother. Life is what God wills..wulfman75 Thanks this. -
I sure hope you have a chance to see family even if its after Christmas its self - its the time w/family, not the specific date that matters.
Buckeye 'bedder Thanks this. -
Well look at it as getting all aspects of training. Any other time I would say ok, but Xmas I would have had him drop me at a hotel. Make Central pay for it! No reason why they shouldn't.

Lady K I have a Droid. So I am posting to the forum with it. It is tethered too so have my laptop on line too.
Chompi, to be honest I never thought of a hotel, but it would not be much different. Least here I have people to talk to and I don't mind sleeping in the truck.
Getting lots of me time and that is good.
