80 west of San Antonio. Years ago, you could make it from Florida to Texas in a day on 10 running the speed limit, but the following day, you were still in Texas. The worst was coming in through Texarkana, because the highway ended and you had to roll through all of the little crappy towns. Talk about a long drive to Dallas.

    05' 450 Mercedes (EGR), 13 SPD, 3.90 on LP 24.5".

    59 mph @ 1375 for mpg
    65 mph @ 1525 for drivability.

This is exactly what is recommended for this engine.

Mine seems to be as fast at she will go at 6psi or less turbo pressure. Some of the worst fuel mileage I have gotten has been in the mid to low 50's. I't borken.

Sounds like a street corner where nefarious deeds are negotiated.

with that setup you have, if you had 500 HP, you could change the rotation of earth.

Why not? I do it all the time.

I've been told my sweet spot is 69. I like 69.

Every action causes an equal and opposite reaction.
We each change the rotational speed and attitude of the earth wth every speed increase, braking or change in direction.

If all truckers could manage to all stop at the same instant - we might just stop time.
Or, if we could all speed up to max at the same time, we might be able to go back to the future.

We tried running at 1200-1250 rpm. However, this increases our pyrometer to well over 1000 degrees (temperature out of the exhaust manifold) even on level ground. In order to keep the exhaust temps down into manageable range we need to run at 1500-1600 rpm. For our 13 speed transmission this is about 60-62 mph in 12th (4th position low split) or about 68-71 mph in 13th. We do need to get a dyno and look at replacing the injectors, so we might not be able to run a lower rpm sweet spot now. Actually, our turbo was replaced months ago after it got fried. While it was down the sweet spot was at 1250 rpm, after the new turbo was installed then we had to boost our rpm.
