I could not find any mention of plans to rebuild. Also their website, Facebook, and Instagram sites have had no postings in 10+ months from what I saw.

That Business Was A Cool Place and I participated in purchases the times I ventured along the 65 trips.
Parking Lot was interesting, for parking. Never spent a night. Have a nice Hat.navypoppop Thanks this. -
I totally agree with you. I have stopped at many Mom & Pop stops along with the larger corporate stops and there is no comparison. I have always enjoyed my times at The Tennessean either in a semi or my 5th wheel in my avatar. Plenty of parking, wonderful meals in the restaurant and visiting the drivers room and the store. I really hope that it comes back but it sounds like it will be gone forever. What a shame. -
becoming just another copycat Pilot. At least the Shady Lawn a couple exits south is still going strong
and has good food.navypoppop Thanks this. -
Always glad to see you posting my friend. I appreciate your up to the minute reviews and comments about so many truck stops and travel centers. The wife and I are still travelling in the 5th wheel this year and started from Winter Haven, Fl. to Gulf Shores, Al. for May. We made a quick 5 day stop at our son's home in Madison, Ms. and then we are in Guntersville, Al. for June. We go on to Crossville, Tn. for July, Emporia, Va, in August and Bonifay, Fl. in Sept. then finally home in October. Keep all your knowledge coming on the truck stops it is enjoyable to remember some of them that I have been to. -
It's been well over a year and half since I last posted about the Tennessean and it seems like the plans were made public. It appears that it will be bigger than before but will probably lose the old Mom & Pop feeling. I won't be able to visit until May 2024 when the wife and I begin our Rv travels. There hasn't been many updates or photos of the progress. If anyone has seen any building or have photos they would be welcomed I'm sure.

I haven't been by there in a month or so but it is under construction. Looks like it's going to be a nice truck stop when they get it done. The parking lot is and has been open/available for drivers who need to take a rest break this whole time.
48Packard, navypoppop and mtoo Thank this. -
The Tennessean has a Facebook page with updates. I live 20 miles from it. I just hope they can get good help. In my opinion it was in a class by itself before the fire. I was surprised they didn't just sell the property to one of the big boys. I give the owners a big thumbs up for building it back from the ground up.
48Packard, drvrtech77, rollin coal and 1 other person Thank this. -

Thank you everyone for the updates and photos. I don't do Facebook so I can't see the responses that are posted there. I now can't wait to be there in May.
There is magic in visiting older truckstops and the Mom & Pop establishments. I am an old school retired trucker who began driving in 1969 and miss the Pure, Union 76, Truckstops of America and all those Mom & Pop stops of yesterday. Thanks again for the updates and stay safe drivers.48Packard, kemosabi49 and rollin coal Thank this.
