I figure it's about time I contribute more than problems to the TMC forum, how about some fixes! Here is the general idea, if you have had a problem with your TMC issue Pete and think it may be a more than just your truck problem and or you have a KNOWN fix for it post up. Could very well be a driver on here comes across the same problem and could benefit from your experience. If you have a problem with your truck that you would like advice on how to fix feel free to add your question and maybe another driver who has had that problem will see your question and answer it for you. I'll kick things off with a fix and a problem.

    PROBLEM:
Eaton Vorad is displaying the red fail light and cruise control no longer works.
    FIX:
Pull the fuse for the Vorad (in an '06 379 it's a 5a fuse in the kicker panel fuse box down by the drivers pedals) for 15 minutes and then put it back in, that should reset the Vorad and unless there is an actual hardware problem you should be back up and running again with cruise control. This has happened to me twice in the past three weeks and this fixed it both times.

    QUESTION:
My passenger side mirror doesn't work most of the time. Sometimes I can shut the truck off and restart it and it will work again. Anyone have this problem before and know how to fix it?

Another answer to the vorad question...Turn the switch on/off quickly 3 times on your cruise control. It won't reset the vorad but at least you will have your cruise control.

Passenger mirror... Try to keep your mirror switch in the neutral position and when you go to operate the mirror it should be available to you.

We had a volvo dump truck at a place I used to work. It had a vent in the center of the roof. I drove it through a storm one night and the vent leaked. The water ran in under the headliner and emptied out the speaker right over my head. I had to put my hated orange hat on to redirect the waterfall off my face the whole way.

I went through hell with that 387 pete that I had. They looked it over and continued to insist that the water was getting in via a missing screw in my visor, which was inaccurate considering the screw had been missing since i got the truck and it had only started leaking about a week before i took it to the shop, each time getting worse and worse.

Eventually i got tired of arguing with them, and had my fleet manager get me one of the new 388 models, Never had any issues with that truck, I almost turned over 100k on it when they put me on that dedicated account, which might've been a blessing considering those things had supposedly a ton of problems once they rolled over that 100k mark. Man, i loved that truck.

I drove Macks with the roof vent for almost 8 years and never had one leak, it's the same kind of wing vent that the 379's have in the sleeper.
