This is for real. I once followed a deadheading flatbedder in Texas with a strap flying around his trailer tires. The strap finally caught under a tire and yanked his ladder out of the dunnage rack. He ran over it with his passenger set of spreads.

I finally managed to get even with him in a passing zone, honked my horn and pointed back at his trailer.

    No comprende.

I ran ahead of him, found a wide turn out, stopped and flagged him down. His front brake can was toast, the mud flap on his front axle was gone, and the outside tire had a bulging gouge.

Have straps or chains getting loose can get costly and deadly in a hurry.

I had a ratchet strap break on me . the excess part of my strap. I had it tucked into the ratchet strap handle.the one time i forgot to put bungee on it . it came loose , i was pulling a grade between phoenix and payson. Going about 15 miles per hour. Strap came lose , i said #### i know theres a break check up ahead right before down grade, needless to say i didnt make it there. Strap got caught in the wheel , ripped my 4inch ratchet completely off the trailer

How about green Timothy grass wrapped up aroung the augar of a swather header!!!... Ive done both the spud vine thing and the Timothy grass... I'll take the spud vines. At least you have room to work on a drive line... Nit a lot of room in A swather header to move around!!!

I followed a guy hauling a smashed up truck on a lowboy through Omaha last fall... He had a strap tail flapping in the wind threatening to get caught in the trailer tires. I hollared at him on the radio and told him about it... His response "No I don't! Mind your own F'n business!!"... I said "Fine, I hope it gets caught and causes you all sorts of hell, if thats how you want to respond to a friendly heads up." He started giving me the 3rd degree over the radio so I just shut it off at that point and passed him with a friendly wave.

The worst thing I can think of at the moment was
combining soybeans years ago with a old gleaner L walker combine.
The farmer I was cutting for wanted to chop the straw for bedding. I had the belt off the chopper and had it slid forward under the walkers so I could drop a windrow for him.
Non of the shaft sensors worked on the old girl so it was a drive by sound and feel.
I'm going along and something just didn't feel right. By the time I got stopped and let the machine empty out she's shaking pretty good.
Get out and take a look. I didn't have a windrow behind me for most of the length of the field.
    That ain't good...
Turns out the bolts I had holding the chopper fell out and it rattled its way back and plugged the discharge. Them walkers had a large square bale packed in the axx end so tight a baler would have been proud.

Lol... Yeah I can relate to the "by sound and feel" thing... Ive run ALOT of old equipment that that was just how you had to do it.
