That’s funny. For what it’s worth though we have double drops that are only bolted at the top and have no diagonal brace. They do just fine.

And when a DD folds the legs over it drops what 10” total? That thing is going down 4’.

I guess more power to him? Just seems counterintuitive to me to take away the triangulation.

I’m sure his securement methods are just fine though.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a double drop that the legs weren’t bolted at the top and bottom.

How about a double drop with no legs? An old rgn with the neck welded solid. I call it the lieutenant Dan trailer because “it ain’t got no legs”.

Wer used to pull flats with no legs to haul equipment on. You ran the dozer a little off the back to pick up the front, so you could back under it. Once you did it a time or two, you knew just where to park the dozer to hook up and the same to unhook, then just eased it back on the trailer and it would lower it to the ground real easy.
My cousin dropped his on a hill once, and not thinking about the air had bled off (before maxi brake days) he ran the dozer back and picked the neck up, he got a wild ride down the hill. lol

We had one at All that we never detached, we just through blocks under the front corners and dumped our air.

I have done that a bunch, even with trailers that had junk landing gear.
