But as @Swine hauler ’s story would suggest, just because something is legal doesn’t necessarily make it prudent.

But there’s absolutely no comparison between wet wrapped bales and squares like the picture we were talking about

That's the way we did it, with the same pipe "V boards" on the ends on small bales.

We didn't use squeeze blocks like that with three string bales though, we loaded with farmhand loader, 10 on edge with one or two tie layers.

Loading plastic wrapped on ice doesn't compare to regular bales on a ice free deck. That's like saying since I slid all over an icy parking lot last January in Wisconsin with my bridgestone 710 tires they must not be safe in Florida in June.

Growing up in southern az i got a special memory of them west coast hay haulers. Thats what sparked my interest in trucking. Big tricked out petes pulling them flatbed doubles, usually all lit up at night. Makes me feel like a kid again everytime i see one them trucks out west

Good looking rigs, unfortunately they don’t all make money. I’ve got a friend that does ( diesel upgrades ). He’s got 3 tractors similar to that one now.

I used to make decent money on that one. But it was on paper logs.

Perhaps not, but either way if it were me driving I personally would feel a hell of a lot better with straps over it.
