The Truckers’ Report flatbed Hall of Shame.

The bottom is too thick to hook. It basically sits on top of the latch for a high hook. Our 5th wheels are the standard old style with the adjustment bolt out of the front and twin jaws that latch around the shank. We had too many issues in winter with those style in the video. Cold weather makes them sticky.

Personally I never had an issue and kind of liked them, but then again I'm not a total #### up like some of our drivers.

 

Yeah, cold grease slows the "action" of the jaws, or ice on the 5'th wheel that can raise the trailer up just enough the jaw is raised up enough to hit the wide bottom part of the kingpin.

Ouch.

 

I’m posting this here because I really hope they were at least pulling a flatbed.

 

If they weren't they will have one when they come out of there.

I normally dislike the saying 'ya cant fix stupid' but thats all im coming up with.

Which loosely translates to 'oh bless his heart' in southern.
