Right, you're talking about kinetic energy.
The drivers I work with see absolutely nothing wrong with living their pickup freight sitting just anywhere on the trailer. I don't like anything having any room to move, so I load everything towards the front unless it means the trailer would become excessively nose heavy.

Go get u a "certified" headboard and mash the brakes as hard as u can with a load of steel beams and report back ur findings. -
Aren't all Tarp Monkeys "certifiable?"
Asking for a friend.650cat425 Thanks this. -
Without proper securement a good headboard is useless.
But take all the steps (securement and rubber mats) combined with a good headboard and you can hit a wall without the load ending on top off your cab.650cat425, Gearjammin' Penguin and Wasted Thyme Thank this. -
That is completely impossible with certain loads... every flatbed driver should understand the dangers of this type of trucking. And should be compensated with ur driving skill

I have enough straps on that back bundle for 100k pounds worth of freight. I can tell i would not be here posting if i had got into a wreck and mashed the breaks hard enough on a load like that
-
Also u say "the load should not start to move" i hate to break to u , but as long as u are driving forward, ur freight is also moving forward. If u are going 65 and mash on the brakes. Ur freight is now going faster than ur truck is , which is what causes people to get decapitated.
