The Truckers’ Report flatbed Hall of Shame.

Didnt get a picture but, I may still be able to get one when I leave here....or maybe it'll end up on CDL life website cause Georgia always puts stuff out there.....
Coming into the port in Savannah(Lathrop Ave) DOT had a flatbedder stopped about 50ft from the entrance(flatbedder was leaving). If you frequent the port, you see those guys coming in and out of the port with 3-4 coils and 1 chain per....the coils go to a warehouse about 2-3 miles from here. And while im trying to scan my port card 2 more flatbeds with same load were leaving....guy had 5 coils and only 2 chains!!!

 

About a month ago or so, I drove 71 miles with my winch bar on the catwalk. Got parked and saw it doing my post trip. It could have easily fallen down into the drive shafts or ended up in between drives. We were extremely lucky my negligence didn't end up costing us or anyone else.

 

Yeah I saw a picture of that, it was all tipped over with at least one of the coils on the ground

I seen it on facebook this morning. ###### if i can remember where. White daycab pulling a steel step, across the whole road, tipped up, big forklift picking up one coil from the blacktop. Caption said it was this morning in Savannah Ga

Looks like he has two chains on at least what would be the middle coil. Looks like a failed u turn attempt.

 

I wish I could say this was the first time I left my bar on the deck, but this is the first time it wasn’t still there when I stopped. I can only hope it didn’t lodge in somebody’s windshield or torso. I guess I probably would have heard about it by now.

 

Oh wow…. I didn’t see that one. That’s not the one I was talking about. The one I seen was just pulled over by DOT… maybe after they they’re gonna hit the area hard.
