2 chains on front and back ones and straps on the rest through the bottom is the way I do it. Used to haul empty reels a lot before the market turned into whatever we're living in now.

Wonder if that was a x strap. That came off on the right side.. Happened to me a couple times hauling mulch that was loaded all the way to the end of the trailer... but you know, nothing a quick glance in the mirrors can't fix

Looks to me like both sides of the strap are still hooked, just slid off the top.

Yeah that's what I mean. Those x straps can be a ##### sometimes to get tight... especially if that product settles

What's holding the other 2 in hand strap from sliding off the top? The way it's on there the tension is pulling towards the rear and not putting downward pressure.

CAXPT, Kyle G. and cke Thank this.

Just say NO! To straps on containers. Especially this way, those aren’t doing ####. 114BBDBF-A15B-49F9-BB55-845D65A3CD01.jpeg

Well the cans can't go anywhere, so exactly what is the issue?
O n a flatbed I wouldn't secure that way, but on that trailer I don't see the issue.
2 or 4 over the top is not legal in some places.
The way that's secured kind of covers all the bases despite how it looks. Assuming the other side looks the same of course.
