    I’ve seen worse.

Look at it this way. If it looks the same way after you get there as it does now and doesn’t go fluttering like a wedding dress in a hurricane, then you’ve accomplished your mission. :yes2557:

Clearly too broke to buy a couple cases of bungees. Must be the dumpy rates.

Does that guy have his tarps inside out ? Either that or its a home depot tarp??? Which i can see the black line of d rings at the bottom of first tarp.. So leads me to believe he put it on completely upside down.. Just wow..

I have no idea, but I know those tarps did diddly squat to keep the rain off. As he was moving forward you could see the coils.

Thanks for the tips. Here is a screenshot of the video I saw and his securement looks shady but the tarp job looks primo. I do bend the hooks on my bungees but even the flat part of the hook will rub a hole. I’m so salty at tri city canvas for these tarps. My tarps flap a decent bit but it’s been 20mph winds all day. I would have asked for tips from other drivers but everyone had conestogas. It was like 25 degrees when I was chaining this thing with 6 chains and tarping it sweating like a fat man. My plan was to make the front flat as possible not a slope which was the big mistake. Plus the load before was a 2 pick 1 drop all same day tarped skidded coils and I was super tired. As far as the dunnage I like 8ft instead of 4 or 5’ because I feel like with extra coil racks it spreads the weight more and is a little bit gentler on my trailer.

I think I messed up securement also and should have alternated the side with the binders. I’ve only been doing this a couple weeks. I used 6 chains and coil was only 37k lbs.

Edit: what should I buy to protect coil from chains? The metal edge protector looks like it would damage the coil or bend when you tighten the chain.

Looks good to me man. @jamespmack could give u some good advice any questions about coil hauling and securement... As far tarping its just one of those things that just takes practice . i probably learned more about tarping just by walking the truckstop and looking at how other guys do it, more then any other way... The one advice i always give that has helped me alot is just think about how the wind is going to effect your tarp... The main goal is to always keep the wind from getting it, so the logical answer to that is keep it tight as possible at all times, right? So then your next question would be how do i make this part more tight? How do i tighten this side up ? Etc etc its a little frustrating at first but once you kinda get your own feel for it you can get really good at it fairly quickly. Just always think about that 65mph headwind hitting that tarp and whats gonna happen when it does.

CertainTeed still has a few products in paper and want them tarped.

They also want all shingles tarped if delivery is more than 100 miles.

Hold your argument. Because I feel the same!

I agree, he did a fine job for the first time. Biggest thing is keeping it on. I've hand tarped twice in the last 10 years. Could careless if I ever do it again.

I'm a sidekit baby. If it fits, it ships.
