it’s over 15’6” tall they will not give you a through transit permit.
I just moved a 15’ 6” tall 15’ 10” wide load through there to New Jersey in August or July ( it all blends together)
trust me the route was so F’d up you would want to go voluntarily- 11 hours to go a little over 200 miles between the trees and the overhead lines and the stupid turns.

Personally, and from a position of ignorance, this cargo looks big enough that it should be transported the same way the turbine tower sections are. Or at the very least with a steerable trailer. It's giving me the same vibe as trying to haul equipment in a standard dry van - yeah you CAN do it, but that doesn't mean you SHOULD. -

Necessary nor practical. In my limited opinion, @Rontonio would Know a lot more.
Lots of guys suggested the load should be on a steerable in the comments, even one of the big wigs at Dagen, who runs a bunch of steerable trailers. Don’t get me wrong they are pretty sweet. But they are stupid heavy and crazy expensive.
I talked to a guy pulling a new Famonville Megamax, which is the type of trailer that would Have prevented this issue. A steerable 55ish ton stretch is over $400k and his empty weight was 75k with a 4 axle truck. That’s double the cost and 20k heavier then a comparable none steering trailer. -
I am 60k empty as a non steerable 55 ton stretch like I am today - 46’ in the well right now 15’6’ tall 15’ 4” wide 99’ overall
Last week pulling a steerable with 48’ of deck open to 68’ in the well I was 79k empty
after watching the video - a steerable would have done the trick fairly easy
price of trailer difference significant 200k non steerable new versus $500k steerable
using s schnabel trailer would be problematic in making the connections on either end and it is no clear if the load is structural to use a schnabel
wind towers work because the are very strong and very standardized as far flanges for using the hydraulic fingers to lift and support the towers,
transport national, I think has some schnabel for silos but they would custom designed for a particular manufacturer - my best guess.
could maybe have put it on a low pro step stretch if height wasn’t a major issues to get it down from the mine.
Most likely the customer did not want to pay for the correct equipment - think 3 times the cost or more
hope this helps
