If the shippers were partially responsible for these bridge hits, they would make sure that it was loaded on the proper trailer.

My thought with the roller and skidsteer along with the hapless victim, this was not a quarry or dealer move, I'm thinking maybe a auction haul?

I ponder how a dump trailer makes it onto an interstate with it straight up in the air and hits an overpass . I guess some people are oblivious.

I see no chains or straps on that load what so ever.
None broken where the excavator sat and none visible on the rest of the load!
    GRAVITY for the win.
correction: I see a chain looped loosely through the hitch on the track loader

Yeah either that or a customer move. Maybe someone bought some kittys and hired out a mover. I see that a lot and unfortunately they're not very good.

Kyle G., Feedman, cke and 2 others Thank this.

That 3 piece equipment move is either auction or LTL partials trying to make it to $2/mile all together.

Yea it really needs to go back on the shippers and brokers. I mean yeah the driver is a ####### for rolling out over height but the brokers and shippers are fueling the race to the bottom.

The problem is that most of the shippers don't know either. They are hiring people to work in an office who wouldn't even know what the hell an excavator is much less the correct way to load one. The brokers aren't even in the US half the time so they are just pulling specs off the internet.

Man that's always one I've had to wonder. I mean beyond not looking in your mirrors basically ever. How can you not feel the body swaying 20+ feet in the air when you turn? Like that has to just handle like garbage swaying with every little move of the wheel.

That was part of the intent of CSA - build a mechanism that would allow shippers to be held responsible for the carriers they employed. All that happened was an increase in use of 3rd party brokers to insulate the shipper before everyone accepted what was already known - there is no scoring system that can adequately adjust for both carrier size and inspection frequency.

I'm all for the idea of holding shippers liable for the carriers they hire, I just don't see a viable way to do it without creating a cash cow for lawyers.
