) I'll tell you. If it means a 2 axle tractor then yes, that is normal here. 3 axles are unusual and double drive even more so, usually reserved for heavy haulage operations. If not and I have misunderstood I'll try again once put right.
Edit: Mostly in the UK a 3rd axle, single wheels and sometimes a lifter, is used to make a better weight distribution, but they don't seem to be so common on the mainland. The firm I used to work for just up the road has a full fleet of 2 axle tractors pulling tri trailers, all of them.Last edited: Sep 23, 2024
