I mean we've been known to run outta gas deep in the arizona desert but by God if I ran out of battery, I don't think my 5 gallon jug will hold a charge :D I guess they are only city pickups

But but but you have SUNSHINE in Arizona. Right?!? Oh wait that pesky sun sets every evening doesn’t it. Sarcasm not directed at you Mr. Tibbitt. But yeah they make an electric pickup and BDP is right. The “ performance “ is laughable. Watched one dude try to go across town and range, pulling a light trailer was in the range of 70 miles with no A/C. My father-in-law has fallen victim to this craze and purchased one of the hybrid Jeep models about a year ago. Retired gent, puts less than 100 miles a week on the thing. Plunked down 72,000 cash for the thing. Already has had to have an alternator replaced at 980$. A starter at 720$, it’s one that shuts off and restarts at lights. Icing on the cake is he received a letter from Jeep in October stating they are having “technical difficulties “ with the electric part of the vehicle and battery that “may present a fire risk” and to please cease using the electric side and operate solely on the Internal Combustion Engine for the time being until a remedy is found. Dumb SOB still has the thing parked in his garage which is attached to the house. I told my wife he would be wise to park outside. He won’t listen and thinks the battery fires in these hybrids/electrics is fake news from MAGA people. Suffice it to say he and I are not on speaking terms

I saw something like that once. I was at an auction yard little north of Everett Wa and I had to wait for an hour while this guy loaded his new ford lighting truck up with crap. He has a 10k tandem dump on the back full of railroad ties and his bed was loaded down as well. Then I noticed he had Canada license plates. Wonder how many times he had to stop and charge. Probably swore to destroy that thing after he got home. They work terrible!

When the eclipse happened in north Vermont there were about a zillion Teslas waiting at the charger and a young guy in a loud Mustang came through snorting his pipes. I laughed until I cried. I wondered how many of them we’re having second thoughts.
