IMG_3742.png I am posting this on the haul of shame because I tarped it, but it’s been 30 years since I tarped a load so I get a little slack.
I have 15 things to get done today and tarping a carhauler wasn’t on the list. However my mechanic didn’t get the turbo and manifold done on the dry day of the weekend so I made him a fairly dry workspace. IMG_3740.png

That thing has to be a bear just to get the hood open, overhead in your way, then the herd bumper, I'll keep my little short hood....lol

The rack raises up with hydraulics and the Herd has a tow pin to pull out and latch to release. Looks much worse than it really is

I did that in a below zero blizzard in SD... Had to change the engine harness on a 97 Mack. With a couple 500W halogens in there with me, it was a fairly comfortable workspace considering the conditions. Let me work over an hour between warmups, instead of 15 frantic minutes before your hands froze up.

I bought the smaller version of a torpedo heater last winter for repairs I absolutely can’t wait till later to do. Surprisingly it works really well in single digit temps for must do repairs. It runs off a tank the same size as a gas grill.

Folding it up in the wind a few minutes ago reminded me why I don’t run a flatbed anymore and definitely wouldn’t do tarp loads if I did.

Those 500watt halogens get hotter than the surface of the sun . Put 3 of'em in a crawlspace it'll get purdy warm.
