    Yes.

    On IL 83 between St Charles Rd and Rt 38 used to get hit all the time back in the late 80s by intermodal containers. At the time it was a 13'6" clearance, and I'm guessing that some drivers weren't checking the height of the container (I was 8-10 at the time). It was bad enough that whatever rail line owned the bridge paid most of the cost of reconfiguring the rail line to eliminate the spur.

    The viaducts on 171st where it's parallel to the Tri-state... When they allowed longer trailers when I was kid, they were getting stuck everyday. The longer wheelbase was still on the approach and would wedge them nicely about halfway back on the trailer. They were right at 13'6" back then, they've dug them out so they're substantially taller nowadays.
