I have a 96 Aspen 50t that I bought with the tractor that pulls it in 2009 for $60K. I figured $30K a piece at the time. I'm not sure, but I think I could sell my Aspen for all of $30k now. @ElmerFudpucker and @Rontonio know the values of new stuff. I don't, but I bet the globe trailer in your picture with booster and jeep sells for a lot more than a new tractor to pull it. And I don't think Globe is at the high end of pricing.

I’m not too up on multi component trailers, but used it’s still 250-300 range. And generally have had the guts pulled out. I can tell you a new 55 ton with neck and 4th axles is 188,000.

A quality 60-65t trailer will run north of $300k and a 75-80t trailer - non 16 tire will be every bit of $400k

the cost for running a multiaxle trailer legally are significantly more than running an 8 set up. Pilot cars for length, super load permits for weight are just the start to do it legally. You are going to do near 50% empty miles as the loads are less frequent or plentiful.

so the math - a 2/3/2 trailer has 28 tires - that is near $18k just to do tires

Shippers don’t care and brokers don’t care either. And as far as the “drivers” most don’t care either - if they get caught oh well they were broke anyway. Hit a bridge - who cares , can’t get blood from a stone.

If general freight is a race to the bottom - specialized heavy freight is a sprint on a short course.

Etnyre’s are pot metal. But globes are heavy, tall and weak. I’d take your trailer before a globe. But hey globe with give you a neon green paint job and a hydraulic folding stinger. So the Cubans in south Florida will keep buying them so they can hang at wildwood
