    I made a desk out of Baltic Birch many years ago but that's the kind of thing you can't find because it's made in Russia. Good stuff though perfect size to cut in half for a desk 5 ft by 5 ft.

    Used to get a lot of that Birch out of port of Oakland. Dang stuff was heavy. Some of the best plywood I’ve ever worked with was the Canadian rock maple. Kind of expensive, but very nice stuff.
