Was that today? I could swear that same idiot passed me on I35 up by Story City this morning. If it wasn't him it was his twin.

The guy who passed me probably wasn't going 100, but I was doing about 72 and he blew my doors off.

They can just keep doing what they're doing. Keeps the DOT bears busy!

And for what it's worth, I'll give credit to the Iowa DOT/state patrol/motor carrier enforcement or whatever they are currently calling themselves. They seem to make a real effort to chase down the serious offenders instead of just picking on random trucks who are following the law. Iowa is a bit unique in that the DOT bears have the same enforcement powers as the rest of the state patrol. They will even do traffic enforcement on 4-wheelers.

In MD it’s the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division of the State Police.

Same in IN. Doesn’t matter what I’m driving, I see a Durango with that State Police logo on the door, I sit up straight!

They were actually more unique as a standalone entity. They only recently pulled them into the ISP after someone sued claiming they lacked jurisdiction over non-commercial traffic.

I remember when they were a separate entity. Even then, I never had any problems with them. Just drive respectable and they seem to leave you alone, at least in my experience.

It's extra satisfying seeing them pull over 4-wheelers though, not gonna lie.

Argh...reminds me of a road in PA off US 30 I went up one time, but not that steep...in the winter and the next thing I know I'm on an icy, curving steep downhill grade, riding the side of the road on the grassline to keep traction and get down with an empty trailer that had gotten stuck trying to get up on the uphill side of that nightmare. There were no "No Truck" signs there though.

Just traced it in Google Maps. The area I was at was US 30 to Navy-Marine Corps Way, across that intersection to Port Perry to Palms St to Derby Lane to Maryland Avenue and onto E. Pittsburgh McKeesport Blvd. I was supposed to turn right instead of crossing over E Pittsburgh-McKeesport Blvd so I could get to Braddock Avenue to get to NexTech. Met some nice people on Derby Lane who were nice enough after being woken up to move their cars so I wouldn't crash into them. :)

Yeah I do the same, if not for where I'v'e been, but also for if I ever end up there. :) We're both thinking the same areas of PA. :)
