Do my eyes deceive me or is the chain over the strap?

The front chain is hooked to a pocket chain that comes up from the deck.

The straps are ok i guess. on a shotgun coil ur sposed to put them over the top but i never did. never thought it really is gonna do much in the end, rather just throw another chain thru the middle, if the voice calls my name .. But chain sposed to be horseshoe'd thru the eye of the coil securing to same side of trailer, on both sides... Then x chain from one side to other, thru the eye... Not to mention its just on a pallet rather than in proper coil racks.. Hopefully the people driving next to that mess have their life insurance up to date

I'll just leave this right here, seen a ton of these lately, no strobes, no markers, none on the front either, he is about the third one I saw today, with no strobes no marker, coming out of Mn going into the middle of North Dakota IMG_20250908_194608248.jpg

Ive been seeing more too.. i know some states like utah, u dont need anything other than permit til u get over 10 wide.. but im seeing them in states i know dam well u need all of the bells and whistles... Wonder how stupid some can be, but in trucking when u think u seen it all, someone will surprise you the next day :D

The translator app said 'stroke it' instead of 'strobes on'

You're right about that load missing the horshoe and X-chains, but if you magnify that picture, you'll see that those 'pallets' actually look like wedges which may or may not be nailed down to the trailer....but still, if I read DOT regs right, nailed blocks being used to hold a coil are still in violation if those 'wedges' are not being restrained by the appropriate number of coil racks in accordance with the regs for hauling coils.:dontknow:
