3.) try to get a small buisness loan from your bank if your credit is good.
4.) if you're collecting unemployment you might be able to qualify for "job training".
Personally I went for option #4. I had to jump through a lot of hoops with the labor board, probably took more time than going out and finding yet another dead-end job. But I got into USA Truck as a "free agent". Didn't stick around and now I work for a nice mom & pop, but I've got no loans.
Ironically, if I hadn't worked for USA, I'd have been able to keep collecting unemployment for the entire time I'd been over the road. Actually would have made MORE money and less stress, (and I'd have been able to keep my old Apt.) but my time in the truck helped me earn valuable seat time.
