There used to be one in Cortez, CO right across from the scales. They had quite a range of food. Ranged from edible (more or less,) to flat out terrible. That UTE casino was the best thing that ever happened to truckers running up and down old 666. Yeah, I know, they changed the number of the highway. I just don't remember what they changed it to.BIG RIGGER Thanks this. -
I live not far from Hoods and yes they are good! BUT Indiana, I-70 Exit 115 The Gas America. Not enough parking but the best food between Springfield, MO if not the nation except for some of my favorites in NYC!
Then there is Frystown, PA the All American I-78 Exit 10 and plenty of parking!
The Gas America you better go in hungry as you WILL be fed food! And the plate is full!
The same with Frystown! Not as much as Gas America but just as good!
Then off the track in PA not far from The All American is Esters on Hwy 22 west on exit 8. They are on the north side of the road with some truck parking but again great Amish cooking and fed like you're at home!
All three of these I stop at when ever I could on my dedicated NYC route! It's funny that I only weighed 155 before I came off the road as they were stops I would not miss as the price to eat at these places did not bust the budget! The 115 had the best dollar value of them all! The All American I did before I hit NYC and Esters when I was on the way back if I went that way!
Do not hesitate when on 2 lanes and you see an old faded sign and you come up on that place that was advertised and see room for a truck. STOP! It just might be worth the effort turning the wheel! I've stopped at placed out in the boonies and found a slice of heaven!
Good Luck

Clearwater Travel Plaza (a Petro affiliate), Clearwater, MN
Rothsay truck stop, Rothsay, MN
Exit 45 truck stop, Menomonie, WI
Golden Express Travel Plaza (a Roady's affiliate) Osseo, WI
Hixton truck stop, Hixton, WI -
All of the above truck stops are off of I-94 and are good, independently owned truck stops, although a couple are affiliated with larger corporations, which I mentioned above as well. The old Northtown Plaza in Fergus Falls used to be good as well, but went out of business a couple of years ago.
