Sounds like the Garden of Eden truck stop in Eden, Idaho. Formally known as the Travelers' Oasis.
The unique truck stop if there is one left

Old thread I know but...
I recall so many great truckstop thru the years but the majority don't exist or have been bought out and turned into chain stops, like a target or home depot, each one laid out the same.
The old 76 in Tucumcari. Where I used to take my first nap headed to the west coast.
The old triple H in Murdo SD.
The old Skelly in Belle Fouche.
The old truck stop in Emporia,KS. I think it's a J now.
The Boondocks north of Des Moines.
There used to be a great stop and restaurant on the east side of Nebraska City when 2 ran thru town and crossed the old skinny bridge.
The Eagleville truckstop and cafe in MO.
Can't recall the name but the truckstop that was on the north side of hwy 9 in Elizabeth or Edison, NJ, probably been closed since the 80s. Used to deliver Ford parts in Mahwah? or Edison and was a convenient place to park and eat.
At some point there will be no more full service 24 hour restaurants in truckstops and that is sad to me.Speed_Drums and Brettj3876 Thank this. -

The last Truck Stop I can remember being in was the Petro at Mebane NC. That was coming home from my last visit to Georgia. I have no idea what today's state of the TS is. I do know when they took the "Tommy Gun" out and the "croc" down, (My guess is some will understand what that means some won't) something inside me told me the age of the TS that really catered to a driver was over! That age is over I suspect. Most likely will never return.

There are still a few good ones around and I hope they will go back to being like they were after the covid thing is gone. Like Gee Cees in Wa or the Boise Stage Stop.
