Reading this thread gives me a new appreciation for flatbedding.

Slow shippers? Once in a very great while, but loading me takes about 15 minutes if the forklift operator has a decently sized brain.
Recievers? Well, they move pretty darn quick when...

A: I'm hauling something they need immediately.
B: I'm parked right in the middle of their work area.
C: My company has a little thing in each and every contract called a "Detention Fee". And they aren't afraid to use it! One phone call from me, puts their boss on the phone with our detention office within about 5 minutes.

It's probably already in here but miller/coors in golden,co. can't get it right. Every time I go there it's over gross or over on the trl tandems. The fact that Im pulling a refer doesn't help. :biggrin_25513:

Your trailer cannot have any roof damage or leakage either... flat out reject.. They do inspect the trailers.. roof on down.

So does Buttwiper... err... Budweiser. Interior has to be clean enough for an operating room. Wouldn't want to contaminate any of that armor-plated product of their!

Its not that they "can't get it right", they just dont care to DO
it right. They have a scale right there on the lot and cant run it
over the scale themselves BEFORE dropping in the drop lot?

Depends on what you're pulling the load with... not all tractors are lead sleds. I've been at shippers that require an empty weight called in over the CB... had a competetor reefer outfit call his in - same model tractor as mine, 4600 lbs heavier. The yard dogs don't know what your empty weight is going to be.

Company makes me fuel before I go into a Bud brewery, even if it's not within our network.

I went in there with 3/4 fuel and it was 1,600 lbs over gross. Another time was 1,500 over on the tandems.
