Go threw " The Wreck House " when it is windy. Not even a tow truck will come get you till the winds calm down. The winds in " The Wreck House " are very well known to blow fully loaded train off the tracks and a fully loaded Truck with little ease.

I was told years ago that when the trains stopped - you stopped. I was also told that if ya seen more and more trucks parked, on the way to the boat, between Harrys Brook (? - that right ?) and St. Georges, then YOU bloody well find a place to curl up as well.

Been there and done it - camped out 2 days once at the Stephenville paper mill waiting for the wind to drop

ooohhh yes if you see trucks on the side of the road and camping out in either direction you stop and camp out too. Unless you dam well do not know no better and try to be a really big smart @#$ and have the pieces of your truck or car scraped off the side of the road with a wrecker after the wind calms down.:biggrin_2556:

Now a days there are signs (Thank God) to tell you if the winds are high.:biggrin_2558:

But you still check all the radio channels and tv and call, to check on the wind speed just in case. If you do not plan it out your stuck or going no where fast except on the back of a wrecker.

If you have a empty van/reefer and the winds are up to 65km you are risking you and your truck to be tits up on the side of the road.

I know some one who try to be a smart @#$ and said
"It's only a bit of wind by, There's nothing to that, ya wimps.":biggrin_25523:
and drove on like a fool.:biggrin_25513:

To his surprise, not ours(the 16 who stayed off the highway).
He was tits up on the side of the road by the lake for 3 days, sooking because no one was dumb enough with a car or truck or a wrecker to go get him. :biggrin_25513:

He was a Dumb @#$ no more after that. :biggrin_255:

Thank you Mother Nature for putting him stright.:biggrin_25514:

The Apollo 11 astronauts were launched atop a huge Saturn V multi-stage rocket on July 16th 1969 from Kennedy Space Centre and sent quickly on their way. They reached lunar orbit after only three days in space on July 19th 1969.:biggrin_2558:
