It's cool to see the enthusiam of the 'young guns', the new up and coming mavericks of the road. Good luck drivers. Hang in there, cause it is not always an adventure. In the long run, it can be rewarding. For 18 years I proved to be a good provider for my family. My kids are grown, about the age of some of you newbies. For me it seems to have come full circle. Another words, I will soon be climbing down from the cab and will be moving into another area of employment; a rookie in a field of professional @*#+&!

I wish you luck. some advice. the mental and physical aspects will be hard in the career change. you may not realize it. but you have lost alot of your physical strength from driving a truck. it has taken me 7 months to get my strength back after retiring from trucking. learning to get along with people every minute of the day no matter what. has been tough.... it will be worth it in the end.

I appreciate the well wishes! My decision to exit the cab, ( soon because I'm still driving) and do something else in or around the trucking industry, is my decision. The industry, which you know as well , has been taken over and held hostage by some ultra demanding, sometimes debilitating rules and regulations. It will continue and stifle free enterprise. I dont want to discourage the new drivers, more like encourage them! If they remain vigilant, with a view to safety and longevity; they should be well compensated! I look forward to moving on. My desire is to help and serve. This is who I am !
