Mesilla Valley Trucking's 50% of the Fleet Average is over 9+ mpg and you can see why with incentives like these for it's company drivers to get better fuel mileage:
Here is there website for more information: http://www.m-v-t.com/opportunities.sstg
Don't let those that tell you a 9+ mpg truck is a miracle truck when there is an entire fleet averaging over 9 mpg with bonuses like a new Harley given away every quarter to the highest fuel mileage driver and even bonuses for 10+ mpg drivers.
There is money to be made with 9+ mpg trucks

The owner of MVT must making alot of money with fuel savings with 9+ mpg trucks or he would not be able to offer such great incentives and their used trucks bring a premium when they are on the market.
The O/O trucks are faster, but the company driver trucks are governed at 62 or 64 mph. -
I want to haul helium, too! Where do I sign up?
They must haul styrofoam or something? -
how heavy are his loads? and how new are the trucks?
-
Check out the MVT highest fuel mileage driver award for 2010 with 10.39 mpg average for the year and that was 2010.

Loads must be light, and to be honest, the incentive is almost not attainable. I'd like to see a list of all the drivers who achieved this bonus. Not saying it can't be done, but just would like to now. I doubt the percentile is very high.
Also it says that the idle % needs to be under 4. So do the MVT trucks have APU units on them?? I know they have those stupid boat-tails that are usually missing a wing or whatever u call it.
And a 2mph increase for drivers getting better mpg?? Kind of odd...but I want to know when their trucks will be governed to 62mph because I go 63mph in my own truck and these guys pass me all the time. -
It would be interesting to compare them to Ashley MPG fleet average.

But their O/O trucks are indetical to their company trucks? The ones that pass me every week all look exactly the same.
Good for them getting mpg and above but I'll stick to my old black as coal smoke chugging CAT. I prefer a truck I can work on myself and save thousands in labor costs. Guess I'm just stubborn LOLSL3406, Bob The Dinosaur and DrtyDiesel Thank this. -
lol, 3 cents a mile and avg 3000 a week slave drivers, i wonder if they issue the drivers funeral home fans ( some of you wont have clue about that one)
