There is money to be made with 9+ mpg trucks

But, the Government has no problem screwing everyone else. Not so sure I am all that concerned if someone screws the Government once in a while.

only problem with that is a gas helium torpedo tube type trailer hooked to a trailer will gross out at 79,000 loaded or empty. those tubes are really thick and run up over 2500 pounds of pressure depending on temp .

 

But there is money to be made if you can generate great fuel mileage. I've done the math with my company, and the fuel surcharge magic number is 7.7mpg. If I can average that (which I seldom do, but on occasion make) the fuel surcharge pays my entire fuel bill.

 

Your health goes downhill quick doing that many miles at 62 and keeping all those appointments. They had to pry Mendoza from behind the wheel to give him his check.


Those guys used to fly up I-40, I-81 to the NE. Same guys would pass me a few times. Probably cut their fuel cost in half by cutting 'em back and adding plastic panels.

Why would there be an 8.5mpg club if the entire fleet was 9mpg+?

MVT has more than their fair share of dumb as rocks drivers, so I doubt many of them get mileage bonussses.

 

I can't stand the look of those trailer tails.
