If anything the problem I had with the heavy rocket launch test was the excessive cheering as if it was a Roman Coliseum Games. If you are going to see the thing come unstuck from the earth and go upstairs I would like to think you want the engines to be heard.

I don't mind people trying to get into space. But the outrageous display of burning dollars being tossed on a whim tends to leave a bad taste.

By the article it looks more like tax credits and a mix of stuff. The way the politicians look at it, if the company is successful, jobs are created which means people are employed and paying taxes and the company is paying taxes that go back into the federal, state, local coffers. When the people now have jobs, they're purchasing more stuff including houses, cars, etc.
