13ft11in wide
It's called copilot on the Google play store, I program it into my tablet that's mounted into the overhead of my truck
These permit routes are getting out of hand.

So its NOT PERMIT load out of hand, its YOUR LOAD out of hand

I can't even imagine how would you fit in in I-86 corridor as 2nd option, with all the turns and twists around mountains..
That permit road is pretty much only 1 good option
Or and BTW I80 have some construction with narrow lane also, but I don't quite remember if you will catch it , or it will be later on after you will jump to I-81..Last edited: Jun 10, 2020
Coffey, cke and singlescrewshaker Thank this. -
I've been meaning to check out CoPilot. With a FleetPortal account, you can send routes to CoPilot directly from PC*Miler.Coffey, cke and ProteinBar Thank this.

Slightly off topic, but your post is a good illustration why oversize rates have to be what they are. Shippers and customers put it in Google maps and say, 440 x $X should be the rate, when at almost 14W it took nearly twice the miles to get it there.
HighCountry, MTN Boomer, Coffey and 6 others Thank this. -
I was about to ask why they didn’t seem to want him on 90.
That’s nuts. -
Less than 70 miles left on the trip, my high pole missed 2 wires in New York. Had we not been so close i probably would've fired him

happened to me about 6 months ago 2 times on consecutive weeks. Worst feeling in the world. But,I did end dup tearing down a cable wire and a pole! I was 15ft tall. The wire hit at about 13'3 on the unit I was hauling. It missed my truck cause im only 12ft at the top of my stacks. He had his pole set at 15'7. He let me know he hit the wire as im going under it.....

What had you told him to set it at?Coffey Thanks this.

At least 6 inches above my permitted height.
-
And then visually confirm the height with the pilot car driver and his measuring device. Then do this every morning. I've even went so far as digging out the height stick to check for myself.
If they don't maintain that height stick. The clamps on the sections can loosen. Allowing the stick to slip which is bad news for all.
One of the pilots we used for a very high value move actually had a laser height sensor. He was still required to have poles but it seemed to work well.cke, Coffey, nikmirbre and 1 other person Thank this.
