No truck driver was deceived into getting CPM pay for truck driving. Each driver either didn't bother to ask how he was getting paid, didn't care, or accepted CPM. Certainly after the second paycheck he could have the info he needed to accept or reject CPM

The trucking exemption for some jobs in trucking was in place because not having it can lead to safety sensitive jobs being rushed to be completed in order to not incur OT costs. That was the argument made at the time of the FLSA and you've spent how many decades always asking for an answer but never looking for an answer? And your last sentence about lease operators, that’s also something they entered into under their own free will. The government can’t protect everyone from themselves no matter how bad you’d like them to control everything. -
And to be fair none of this matters to me because I am O/O and will never work for a trucking company. I have always seen the truck industry pay scale a joke.Northeasterner Thanks this. -
No OT i refuse to work…I average 35 hours weekly (1800 miles) line haul. Most us old coots don’t want 70 hours and sure as heck not without OT…thats for suckers just giving away their timeramman95, Northeasterner, Rideandrepair and 2 others Thank this.
