And on a good hard stop, that forklift is coming right up and over those braces. It's not about being a "lazy door slammer", it's about refusing to haul #### that isn't safe.

The 2by4s around the wheels is a start , there is ways u can brace it,,there has to be tie down points somewhere in a van, all im saying is there is a way for #### to be done, i agree it would be better to put it on a flatbed would be safer , but sometimes the #### u haul u have to think outside the box , i wouldnt turn down a load just cuz i had to work and figure it out how to make this safe..i have nailed alot of 2by4 on my flat to brace #### together that moves...now of course thats only the start of securement.
. Forklifts get hauled in vans all the time so somebody somewhere knows the correct way to secure it

I have hauled forklifts many times in a van, they will definitely move if you only apply the e-brake.
here is what I do when moving your basic warehouse or "Trucking Special" 5000lb Hyster, Toyota, Clark etcetera.
Empty hardwood pallet on forks if it is in the front of the trailer. Tilt the mast all the way back, slide a 4x4 under the mast and tilt it forward until the front wheels come off the floor. Nail the 4x4 to the floor. Turn the steering all the way in one direction until the steering wheels are sideways put a 4x4 against them and nail it. slide some empty pallets in the spaces between the wall and the forklift. Logistic bars in front and back, just to be sure and Bob's your uncle.

Typically, the dock folks will secure unusual loads. Let’s face it, most door swingers don’t know how to haul anything but pallets.

I wouldn’t haul forklifts in a van with nothing but blocking and bracing, if a officer looks inside you’ll likely be placed OSS for a unsecured load. We haul forklifts and such in the van we have, but we’ve added chain tiedowns in the floor.

Only reason brokers send a van for a flatbed load is to save costs. It’s just a sneaky way to save 0.40 on a mile.

This is true, better bang for your buck is human nature. Companies will only do things that save money or make money. If they don't, they will not be in business long.
