Almost .50 per mile for fuel, truck payments, ins., maintenance, etc., paying both halfs of socialist security. He is spending very little of the truck check on his drovers wages, and you can bet a bloody chunk of yer hind quarter on that.

well if he's getting 3000 to 4000 miles a week he's not getting %. he's a slave to the grind! what's your pay dude? $.82 per mile? no thanks to that crap, i'll sit a day or 2 before i agree to that. just what does that ave come to a week after your killer milage program? $1000.00, really is it worth it? i'm on % and i'm not ave $1.26, that's with your FSC by the way. you know that right? don't take they're accountanting service they offer, those guys suck bigtime!

my truck does 70, classic with a kitty cat. do i drive 70 every where i go? come on! be realistic, clowns doing 57 are just in the way. can't hang with the big dogs, stay on the porch. and when the big dogs are around me? i know enough to get out of their way. can't do that going 57 everywhere you go. sometime you brake, sometimes you have to stand on it! screw your fuel economy, drive the #### truck!

to those who think TL isn't making money on his Lease. You missed some important info in your narrow views. How much does he tarp at 75 or 300 bucks a load? hmmm? how many over sized or over weight loads does he take a week? o wait you missed those didn't you? yea I ran for ATS in the begining of '08. So I was on the same Lease setup as he was. I still made money but got lazy on a slow week and messed up owell it happens to everyone. ATS might pay low for mileage but that is added to OD pay so you have to look at that as well. Yea we ran hard my average was 3500 miles a week but never went over 3990 miles. I think I did alright while there. I might even be able to go back if I wanted to, not sure. Just saying you have to look at every part of the lease not just the cents per mile as that is really only part of it.

well i'm there right now, HMMMM i say ur full of ####. aint gonna happen. not with todays market, frieght is slow. if ur gonna tie down and tarp in this heat, you better be a young buck. meaning under 30, cuz it'll knock you down, we had a guy drop yesterday. also with the csa crap, they're all over us to run legal. 4000 miles aint gonna happen, plus company trucks were turned down to 65, not sure on that one. the only way you could do it is if you're x milatary or have help at every stop. maybe a week here or there. but ave 3000 miles a week in a governed truck when your every mile is being watch? come on dude, wake up! do you hear yourself. i got a black classic, truck #81954. big old FOAD on my arm. you come back here, look me up. not hard to see, may be hard to look at, but i aint hiding.

Hello driver...work smarter not harder! You should base your week on 500 mi per day, 5 days per week.

$.81 is bounce miles. I get bounce miles whether it is 1 mile or a 1,000. The biggest advantage is that I can accept loads with a long bounce and get paid for it.

My lowest paid mile is at $.82. Then you have to add FSC, currently at $.36. Making my lowest paid loaded mile $1.18, highest at $1.62.

Then add tarp pay. What ever that may be.

Stop Pay. Rarely less than $75.00. Sometimes seven stops. I may make as much on stop pay as I do on milage.

Canadian arbitration pay. Usually, no less than 65% of $500.00, highest for me has been $1,175.00.

OD pay, in my opinion, not worth it, but you can make money at it. Remember, I don't pull the big stuff yet.

Then, because I drive slowly, getting 7 mpg I am saving a considerable amount of money on fuel cost.

While you drive faster, I drive slower, putting more money in my pocket while doing it. I have a non governed truck, with a 625 hp Cat. I have the dicipline to use it in a manner that makes me the most money.

My truck number starts with a 7.

Heck, In the H.H. side 500 miles a day would be great.
It can be done, but most days it is alot less.

Run I'm doing now it's 146 miles round trip. 1 1/2 rounds a day on a good day.
5 days a week. Bankers job somewhat.
Just long days at the offload site.

Like CPAPE stated, work smarter not harder..

Most, not all of my checks are over $2,000.00, figure in my fuel savings and I think I am doing OK. My FSC is above and beyond my mileage pay, same with all the other accessorial pay.

Thanks for the advice, but I think I'll continue running with the SMART dogs, those drivers putting away all the money, laughing as the "big dogs" blow by. It is really funny, being passed many times in the same day by drivers running 70 mph. See, they stop all the time and I keep rolling. We get to our destination about the same time, the difference is in all the money I saved by driving 57. It is much easier averaging 57 mph than 70 mph.

Any time a big dog wants to get froggy on me, well my truck isn't governed.
