    They are not allowed to go into your sleeper and look through bags or closets, and snoop around, unless you give them permission or they get a warrant... Many people think they can because their scared to say NO... Having a CDL doesn't mean you no longer have rights...

    They can dig thru my stuff any day. Nothing to hide. I'd just laugh and probably make a smarta** comment after they just wasted their time. I'd just remind them that theres dirty underwear in the blue laundry bag.

    I thought so too but I wasn't sure I'm Hispanic and got a middleast accent with a license from nj in upstate ny I would have said something and I probably get questioned by border patrol since I was about 4 miles from the Canadian border

    See just keep a box of doughnuts hidden somewhere obnoxious that a DOT would search, it'll either make his day and he'll let you go, orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr you're staying in the back of that car while he takes you to jail

    Someone should read the regs. They do not state that the bed must be made. They do state that you must have proper bedding. A Certified Inspector may go into the bunk area to inspect per DOT criteria, such as proper bedding and sleeper restraints. They may noy conduct a search, without proper authorization, but they can inspect.
    Weight violations do not count, under CSA. There is no points schedule, in the CSA, for weight and length violations.
