I should probably ask 4 mechanics the same question....i paid diagnostic fees and mentioned the problem.. I had mechanic driving it....computer attached everything. Every shift sequence he did was 1700/1800 rpms....."No dude....your truck is fine....."

So it shifts fine just not at the rpm your used to? Direct drive trans do have different ratios so that does sound right, but they don’t know what it drove like before, just that the current one shifts fine,
do you know what model is in it now or what model it came with? I don’t think you can flip the newer trans to get OD -

I'm really sorry to hear about your troubles buddy.
Let this be a warning to anyone that takes their truck into a shop. I have to give a big eff u to all the guys out there that laughed when I said watch your truck when you take it in for service. They may steal your batteries or your alternator or your starter or whatever who knows your turbo, your tires your tools inside the truck whatever.

How long did they have your truck in there to do the clutch?
I had a transmission replaced once and it took them about 2 days. If you were in and out the same day or 24 hours later I doubt that they had time to pull a switcheroo but if it was there overnight for several days, esp over a weekend then maybe. -
Usually there is a build sheet in the glove box. It will give the transmission model number.

You take it back to the place that screwed it up
As soon as you knew something was wrong.
8 months later is ridiculous. -
