What the heck, I'll finish the 3 for ya.
name and company
Service Transport out of St Gabriel Louisiana (tankers)
how did you get started?
Married a local lady and moved here from Canada. 30 years experience and it counted for jack down here. Had to start over.
what kind of skills did you have coming into this job.
Company driver, O/O and had my own small company in Canada. Have hauled just about everything you can think of.
how much previous experience is required
2 years minimum.
what kind of training, certification or education is required
CDL, tank endorsement, hazmat, TWIC
what do you like the most about the work
The people I work with, the respect I get, pay's decent ( last load grossed $3345 plus $100 for intransit heat, I get 25% of that). Best is coming home to wife and 14 kits (not a typo).
what do you like least
People I work with (some days),Texas loads (pay is crap), idiot 4-wheelers that don't understand placards.
what hours do you work
65 to 70 hrs per week. Times vary (I'm loading at 1:30 AM and delivering in Wyoming Mi at 9AM Friday)
does this company hire entry-level people in this field.
Not really, too dangerous.
what is the average starting salary in this field
22.5 %
would you recommend this type of work to other people
