The guy in the Florida T-shirt is rawse, the genius behind that post, (and a ton of others) his video's are step by step instructions on how to maintain the CM871 Cummins EGR system. Start at the bottom with 1 6, then up one to 2 6 ect., they are listed backwards. Excellent information in there.

I watched that first YouTube video, smart guy, a ton of really good info there. I wish there were more technicians in the world that understand how things work and fail and know how to diagnose, as opposed to parts changers with computers that download engine codes. I guess long story short, god bless those glider trucks.

He is not a service tech he is a truck driver with excellent computer training/skills that took the time to learn and understand how the EGR system and ECM work together, then he translated it into English the average person can understand then shared it free of charge.

    My experience:

2008 or 2009 Intl Prostar: ISX 435 HP and a 9 speed - Delivered superior fuel mileage, 40k loaded with hills 7.0 - 7.5 MPG. Light loads around 10-20k looking at 9-10 MPG.

2009 Volvo with 400 ISX and a 9 speed: Just had a 45k pound load, from the NE to Mississippi. Met withany hills, and I got 6 MPG this with only 2 hours of idle time. With 10k in the box I'm lucky to get 8 MPG.

It's hit or miss, but perhaps the extra HP makes a difference and maybe one was running better than another.
