Let me see, boxes are physical, Manuals are PDF. Much easier to change an PDF..

AS I stated before long long long ago when you first posted, I told you the software feature was not ready at the time they pushed production units and this is usually a month or so before they are shipped to DATS.

It was not a forgotten feature, it simply did not work correctly and instead of putting the feature on the product and receiving a ton of complaints, they left the feature off to be pushed VIA the Dock when it worked correctly.

I do not know why you have such a heartburn over this. I remember when Apple pushed an OS update and it tended to wipe out people's information not too long ago. It was an unknown, so they pushed a fix for it.

You see recalls from vehicles from 10 years back and current. If any manufacture waited till the product is 100% working nothing would be pushed out.

This involves all aspects of life.

Software is pushed out with known issues all the time. They are deemed as a priority or something that will not affect the operation of the unit. Toll costs did not affect the overall operation of the TND. It was a feature.

Now let's move on. This has been resolved, fixed, pushed out Via the Dock and no need to keep beating a dead horse.

    NO NO NO.

Let's drop this issue. A feature was simply not ready for production. Everything has deadlines and this was no different. The feature was not ready for deadline and it was pushed to a future update once it was fixed and working properly.

I see this is turning into another RM bashing thread.

I am tired of explaining the business policies that go hand in hand with production.

As professional drivers, do you expect the world to be perfect? No, the truck you drive if owned, leased, or company, is it without faults?

The computer, phone, tablet, or other electronic device you own, it is without faults?

I am not going to explain about the Tolls feature again, the KR issue (this is done at higher levels), or the fact that with a 53' trailer you cannot be on a Non-Staa road legally unless you are making a local delivery.

As professional drivers you should know what is STAA and Non-Staa and the differences and if you can legally be on it or not. Other trucks on it does not hold water when you get a ticket for being OD.

You see this turning into another RM bashing thread?? Lol. Look at the title of the thread Mark! It started out that way.

When you comment "other trucks being on it (the non staa road) does not hold water when you get a ticket...." I couldn't agree more. I can't take you saying seriously when it's a contradiction of what you just said to me though. "Apple pushed bad products, why can't we? New products get pushed before they are ready, why can't we?" Sounds a whole lot like, "other trucks are on that road, why can't I?"

Let me explain about my heartburn. Your company was deceitful in their advertising and marketing for the units. They could have pulled YouTube ads, radio ads, put a piece of tape over the box where features are listed...... They didn't. It may have hurt sales, and as you have clearly established RM seems to have a get it out, sell it to the masses and make it right later strategy.

That Strategy doesn't work for me. When I point out the issue I have with it to you, or any of the RM reps I have spoken to I am vilified for having an issue. Not one person has owned it. No one has said I apologize for the missing heavily marketed single feature that made you buy our product. Instead it's excuses about why it wasn't ready.

Im glad you are done with this issue.

You forgot to mention you bought this up over a year ago the first time. Is this going to be a yearly rant?

If you are still having heartburn over an issue from a year ago, what else is bothering you?

I did not give an excuse, I gave you the facts, which back then did nothing to satisfy your desire for someone to go on CNN and say, "Sorry, but the software was not ready for production".

Seems like you are ranting as much as I am.

Whenever someone posts about the short comings of RM products I may or may not comment. Otherwise I'm done discussing it with you.
