Thinking About Buying a Rand McNally TND 730 - SAVE YOUR MONEY!

The DC cord output should be rated for 5vdc/2.4A, anything less and you are not supplying enough power to the TND 730. It has a high Def screen plus it has to charge the battery.

Do not buy the Rand All in one. It does not work well on the TND's.

no need to buy I have bought 4 of the pieces of ^##^@& last 4 years i have at least 2 brand new never used oned

 

when i say 4 i mean bought 4 Rm 2-720. 2-730 @ a cost over $1600 most last till 13th month after warenty current lasted 9 mo

 

ill admitthe Rm has some nice features but the software is crap ive bought my last one unless they expand warrenty to at least 2 years

 

Really I am not understanding what the issue is. Please tell me exactly in nice words what you are experiencing. I already mentioned about the DC power issue. You have not addressed that yet with what kind of DC cord you are using and the power output of the cord.

I am understanding that you bought 2 - 720's and 2 - 730's.. for a total of 4, one of which is still brand new. So technically you seem to have issues with 3 of them.

For the 720's, since they require an SD Card for the maps, what kind of Micro SD Card did you buy? What you need is either a 8gb or 16gb, class 4-10, with a "C" around the "Class". If you got a higher GB or an EVO, Ultra, or Ultra Plus type of SD Card, then you will have issues since the hardware on the 720 cannot read the data since it is written to the card differently.

On the 730's you do not need an External SD Card. If you do put one in, take it out.

Now, let's look at each unit you have an issue with.

1 - 720 - issue is ????
2 - 720 - issue is ????
3 - 730 - issue is ????

if the issue seems to be power related then we addressed that already and you need to respond to that. If the issue is software, address the External SD Card first, then explain what it is not doing.

I really have a hard time putting all your posts together to make sense of what the issues are.

wow! i cant be any more obvious, #1- i use factory power cable that comes in box! #2- 3 of the 4 the software crashed on them, 2 would never start up again after white screen they just sat on the begin page where blue line moves left to right never went past 25% 3rd one just died no power light red or green no responce to trying to power on tried 2 new factory power cords!!! not trying to be rude at all but mu opinion and my experience says they are junk!

 

im just sorry it took my dumb ### almost $2000 to learn my lesson

So now the issue is all three seem to have power issues? You are not clear... Quit swearing and explain on the DC Cords,, look at the end that plugs into the DC connector.. What is the Output ????

1- used factory power cable in box - so what is the result?? You just told me what you used.

2 - 3 of the 4 software crashed on them - yet you say you never used one, so how can you say 3 of the 4? What you may think is software may be hardware,, IE - power.

3 - you said it will not power on...

The only way I can make any sense of this is for you to ship me all the units and the DC Cords you use.
