Has anyone ever done this? Is it more profitable? Is it hard to keep track with all the paperwork? Is it a pain in the ##*? LOL. Since I have my own equipment, I'm thinking about this and wanted your thought?

    Thanks!

Yes, if you manage your business properly, it can be more profitable. Just remember though, all the responsibility is on you.

When you pick up freight that the driver is responsible for the load count and condition, you better be on the dock monitoring things, otherwise, you can be directly responsible and lose some money. Freight claims can be very expensive.

You want to make contacts, close to where you live, for outbound freight. This can help you eliminate the broker for some of your loads, and put more money directly in your pocket.

Learn where the good inbound freight is as well, that way when you get your outbound loads, you can try to get them going to locations where you know your inbound freight will be good.

Dont just hit the load boards and start running. Work smart, not hard.
