Yeah...10 minute commute, you can't beat that.
You know if you'll be allowed back? It seems like a good gig. I'd definately go for it.
Thinking about going back to my old food gig

I was in Carrolton the summer before that, and got into an argument with a water truck driver that was parked in my way at the Pizza Hut. He didn't think he should move, even though I was where I was supposed to be, and he was at the speedway next door and I couldn't even get off the road.
You'd be in better company back in the food service world. -
I tell you what, employee owned that sure seems like the way to go to me, I've always been interested in working for an employee owned company we have profit sharing at GFS which is a huge bonus, but I would say and I know who you used to work for, reading what I read, I would say your better off delivering curly fries and frosty to Arby's and Wendys.
Sho Nuff Thanks this. -
@Sho Nuff hell yea they do. I used to do one of the hardest runs for them never called off as a few can attest the boss is a major f'head. Office staff loves me after hearing the convo that went down in his office -

I do foodservice "only" work 60 to 65 hrs a week. I literally make 100k but honestly can't see myself doing this forever. The hours you sacrafice simply is not worth it, the saying "yolo" is so true. can't take the money with you when you're dead. My plan is to save up and quit and get my Masters (already have a Bachelors).
Mike2633 Thanks this. -

Edit: for Brett. That ESOP isn't compelling to me, and won't be worth beans if the company tanks. They've had repeated scares that Maines is going to just roll over them, along with McLane who's offering $6K sign on bonus over in Jessup. I'm frankly surprised they still have any accounts at all, did they completely lose Boston Market? That was my gig when I was there...north Jersey.Last edited: Sep 7, 2016

They had gone around and fixed all the f'ed up landscaping when I started first started the route. It was all f'ed up again within a couple weeks, and they tried to blame me for it. Nope, it was all the trucks cutting thru the Pizza Hut to go behind the gas station. Go figure.
Did you ever go to the bakery across the road? If they didn't have everything out when they opened at 4am, it was because it was still all warm and sticky in the back. -
It was the people who couldn't drive going around that way. I used to squeeze a 6 axle W900 straight truck in there without hitting anything. We used to come down the side street, turn in the back of the Pizza hut, to go out the opposite side of Speedway so we could face the road fueling the trucks at Speedway's diesel pump. Eventually we quit fueling there unless it was in the middle of the night and empty.
The bakery across the road was the BEST. Ulman's....every Saturday morning was apple fritter day, and boy were they good. That was a regular stop for a few of us..
